The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team

Airborne Experience

Any member of the general public who wants a totally unique Airborne encounter can now participate in the team’s “Airborne Experience” program. Available to all who make a Gold Donation of $250 to the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team, this “Airborne Experience” will take you to a new dimension of living history.

Created to let you feel what it was really like, the World War II Airborne Demonstration Team will wisk you back to 1944 and the invasion of Fortress Europe. Join the team at Frederick Army Airfield Headquarters, where you will receive a detailed briefing of your mission and then spend time familiarizing yourself with the equipment that was used by US Airborne troops in WWII. Encounter first hand the type of training and professionalism of our Airborne forefathers, see parachute packing, and gear up with members of the team as they show you in great detail what it was like.

Remember and Honor the sacrifices of those brave WWII Airborne Troopers as you make your way to the team’s WWII C-47 aircraft “Boogie Baby”, an aircraft that actually took part in the invasion of Europe in 1944 and climb through the cargo door just like those brave soldiers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions did in June 1944.

Once aboard, you will take your paratrooper seat while the aircraft engines roar to life, ready to take you skyward, your senses overwhelmed with the sight of your fellow paratroopers and the sound and smell of the powerful Pratt and Whitney radial engines as they roar down the runway. Then you are Airborne!

Following your orientation flight the drop zone will come into view and your jumpmaster will take your accompanying team members through their final jump preparations. Stand up, hook up, check equipment……..stand in the door…………….Go! Next, it’s your turn. You follow the same process with one exception. Instead of jumping with your Airborne Brothers, your stick has been scrubbed, and your orders are to return to Frederick Army Airfield with the crew of Boogie Baby. Upon your return, you will attend your debriefing and the await the return of the team’s jumpers.

So, whether you are somebody who is interested in Airborne history, a re-enactor, former military or just want the experience of a lifetime, come and join us at Frederick Army Airfield for this totally unique experience. If you are interested, complete the registration form below and mail it to us enclosing your Gold Donation check to the value of $250 and you will receive your orders to report to Frederick Army Airfield, Oklahoma. Also included is a years subscription to "The Green Light" the official WWIIADT newsletter, and you will also be listed prominently as a Gold Sponsor on our Website.
